Lynn joined Harcourt School Publishers in Orlando as Sr. Art Director in 1994, designing and art directing textbook pages, packaging, e-learning projects and book covers, collecting several New York Book Show awards for art direction along the way. John created Axis Design, a freelance studio providing design and art direction for print publishing and e-learning, tech art illustration, photoshop & photo research services as a contractor for Harcourt, Houghton Mifflin, McGraw Hill, and several book publishing pre-press vendors.

In July 2007, we moved cross-country from Orlando to Poulsbo, WA, a quaint waterfront town just a ferry ride away from our family in Seattle. We dusted off our Baumgartner Design shingle and hung it up again right here in Little Norway. Uff da! So after nearly 30 years, although we're now planted far from our Illinois roots, we're right back where we started as Baumgartner Design, and that's pretty cool.

Baumgartner Design is a Mac-based studio, using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
